Prof.VGK firmly believes that training is a self decision and it cannot be thrust on anyone but people can be influenced / motivated to learn. Also he does not believe that training is a mere lecture series covering various topics. According to him, one can learn hardly 20% from a trainer and 80% only through his own efforts and self-training methods. Prof.VGK loves training very much and wants it to be an interesting process and every training can be a major turning point in ones life.
Training is a systematic learning process to achieve the set learning objectives with and without a trainer. Training is not teaching unknown things only, but high lighting known things with a thrust to self-actualization, achievement motivation & behavior modification. In training, the trainer also learns new things and trainees also can act as trainers. Hence training is a learning process and also making others learn more.
Trainers have to help trainees to learn what they want to learn, rather than delivering what they have and want to. Trainees must demand what they need from trainers instead of passively receiving inputs from trainers. Training is a need based 2 way learning process of modifying the needed behavior to manage the challenges and achieve the goals set.
Hence Prof.VGK very much believes in adult learning methods and processes rather than simply confined to the content oriented traditional approach. Without a proper needs assessment, he does not organize any training. Like a medical practitioner prescribes medicines after a thorough diagnosis, he prefers to design any training after needs assessment.
He always tailor makes training programs for the needs of Corporate, based on a thorough needs assessment. Before conducting any training he gives a simple needs assessment questionnaire to sensitize the participants on the training module and provoke the thinking before coming to training session and also to assess their skill level concerning the module.
Every training of him is based on processes and output oriented approach. Every training is a network process of Self-actualization, achievement motivation, behavior modification, action plan development & performance monitoring, emphasizing more of self-training. Every training is an exciting experience and major turning point to participants.
The specialty of his training is that the trainees monitor & manage the entire training program using Program Management Team concept. It is a leadership assignment to every participant in the group. Every day various teams are formed to monitor and manage every aspect of training. These teams ensure achieving the learning objectives of every session and the entire program is participatory nature.
Prof.VGK designs training programs with individual sessions, group sessions, self learning sessions & practicum / assignments. He continuously monitors the participants individually and keep giving constructive feedback. He allows participants to ask any question in every session and encourages healthy interactions. He pulses the mood of participants and prepared to change the methodology even. He is more flexible and effectiveness conscious trainer.
He liberally uses ice-breaks and warm up games to make participants more active and attentive. He develops the curriculum of the training using “ here and now situations ” , which influence the participants more and make them pay more attention . He acts as a friend, guide and facilitator, throughout the program . He welcomes participants to avail his expertise even after training through internet.
Every training can help executives, develop managerial abilities, mould positive attitudes, enhance the self-renewal capability, triggering passion for excellence and thereby creating a positive work culture and also address Business development / Organization development / Personal development.
Self -Training
Prof.VGK is committed to help students from age 10 onwards to develop all managerial / leadership skills in order to be great achievers later. Similarly, he wants all success loving youth to get the needed success & leadership skills to achieve their dreams. Also he is willing to sensitize all the people in the age group 10 to 60 to have an urge to achieve more. Every one must have adequate training opportunities to trim their personality. He believes that it is his professional social responsibility.
Though training is important, it is more expensive and a big team / net work is needed to train the target population – success lovers in the age group 10 to 60 years. Neither the target population nor an agency can bear this cost. Hence Prof.VGK is considering a concept of Self-training. He has done research to explore several self-training methods and convinced of about 12 self-training methods, which can help people train themselves adequately. People need a simple training to recognize self-training as a better option for their betterment.
Learning is a self-decision. Unless one wants to learn, no one can force any learning on him. Any resource person can only help learn 20% using all his skills and remaining 80% learning must come through ones own efforts and various self-training methods. Ones creativity and imagination can help learn 20% more. Interaction with core team members, colleagues & peers on concepts / issues can make learn another 20%. Attitude of experimenting new ideas & learning can give another 20% learning. To get the remaining 20% learning, one has to read relevant books, interact with experienced personnel, browsing related topics in internet etc…
Generally people want somebody to train them for their needs. It is a traditional method and the current fast moving busy world, it may not be more time and cost effective. Learning and self –development must be a daily agenda and one must take responsibility for his own success and growth. Self-development is not automatic and one has to seriously program for it. One has to take more serious efforts to achieve more and casual and convenient efforts may not give more results. It is a highly competitive world and unless one keeps sharpening his managerial/ leadership skills and strategies, he may not gain an edge over others. Hence self-training is very important.
Prof.VGK has been doing research on, as how people read self-improvement books and benefit from their reading. As he observes, people pick up a book with a fascination and read it within a few days and definitely get some new ideas and also motivation to fight their challenges. But within a month the motivation disappears and the new ideas got forgotten. Most of the people do not do careful reading and do no home work after reading and do not develop any action plan and do not follow up their plans. Simply they read books in their leisure time, one after the other and enjoy the content for some time and forget without any regret. But a careful reading of self-improvement books can definitely take one to heights.
Most of the people really do not know as how to read a self-improvement book and as how to derive more benefits from the reading. It requires some training. If people are sensitized on the importance of SELF-TRAINING, they can improve their learning more by themselves and without any external help. Self-training can help people to learn what they need. The other training options available deliver not the people want but what the provider wants.
As a trainer for 3 decades, Prof.VGK has worked with Corporate, Schools, Colleges, NGOs, social clubs & Success loving individuals and there by experimented several training methods. Now he advocates self-training more. He has designed a special program for success lovers to acquire self-training skills. One can have this program through internet more comfortably within 3 months. It is a life skill and everybody – school students, college students, corporate managers, entrepreneurs and all success loving people- should avail this program. Interested persons can contact Prof.VGK for further details and to register for the program.
